One common roofing problem that causes damp…

Do you want to know one of the MOST common roofing problems that causes damp?

Do you have a tiled pitched roof with a felt underlay fitted before 2000?

Do you have signs of damp on walls close to the roof?

Then chances are your felt underlay has rotted away near to the gutter, allowing water to pass into the cavity, causing damp walls!

This common problem can be fixed without the need to re-felt the whole of your roof.

See below how this problem can be resolved:

The lower section of tiles are removed, with the felt underlay cut away

A plastic tray is then fitted to the base of the rafters, which overhangs into the gutter

A new lower section of felt underlay is then fitted

New tile batten is fitted

The existing tiles are then put back

Charities Still Need Our Help

We help change lives through everyday business activities, by giving to a project every time we install a new boiler.

The last year has not been an easy year for most of us, so I’m grateful for the support our customers are giving us by continuing to use our services. From the work our customers provided in 2020 we have managed to donate £4,256.00 to Cherry Trees, which pays for 220 hours of play, laugh and new experiences for children with severe physical and mental disabilities at Cherry Trees.

Charities still need our help with funding, now more than ever

Could you be a giving business too, by regularly giving something to a worthy cause?

Cherry Trees is a small charity providing exceptional home-from-home specialist short breaks/respite for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.

Founded in 1980 by a group of parents and doctors, Cherry Trees is a lifeline for the families of more than 100 children and young people who are regularly cared for here, whether it be after school for a few hours, a weekend or even a couple of weeks stay.

Cherry Trees is a unique place, providing professional care in a safe, stimulating and fun environment, where every child is valued for who they are.  It is a community that is dedicated to children and young people, enabling them to spend time with friends and enjoy new experiences and opportunities, while their families have a much needed break.

Roofing Repairs

We can now offer roofing repairs for pitched and flat roofs.

We have teamed up with Martin Rayner and his professional, courteous and friendly team, so we can deal with all your necessary enquiries from small roofing repairs to large roofing projects.

Martin, who already carries out the roofing work for us when we put new boiler flues through roofs, can now offer additional roofing services. They are experienced at all Pitched Roofs (slate and tiled) and Flat Roofs (felt, rubber & GRP).

The initial point of contact will be through Premier Heating and we will then ask Martin to call you back. Martin (office manager and experienced roofer) will be there for you from the first contact, quotation and completing of works providing you with advice and reassurance throughout. Once the work is complete we will invoice you and deal with any future enquiries you may have.

We understand how important it is to deal with any issues promptly. Leaving a damaged roof without repair or replacement could result in damp walls, mould or permanent structural damage to your property so we will respond very quickly to any emergency leaks.

Martin’s roofing team will always be courteous, friendly, tidy and always be at hand for any questions on site.

All workmanship is guaranteed on completion and fully covered with company liability insurance. For larger projects RAMS and contracts can be provided.

Play, Laughter & New Experiences for Children with Disabilities

We help change lives through everyday business activities, by giving to a project every time we install a new boiler.

Charities still need help with funding, especially at the moment. Even though we have had a big reduction in the amount of work we have, caused by the COVID-19 situation, we have still been giving.

You can help too by giving something to a worthy cause?

Or could you be a regular giving business too?

So far this year we have donated £1862 to Cherry Trees, which pays for 98 hours of play, laugh and new experiences for children with severe physical and mental disabilities at Cherry Trees.

Cherry Trees is a small charity providing exceptional home-from-home specialist short breaks/respite for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.

Our Coronavirus Working Procedures

Company Procedure for Limiting The Spread of Coronavirus

As a company we provide installation and maintenance services to our customers. During the current stay at home period, we will still be operational with a reduced service, to only cover essential works such as ensuring customers have heating and hot water, resolving leaks from water, oil & gas pipes and resolving urgent plumbing problems.

We are taking the control of coronavirus seriously, whilst still trying to offer our essential services to our customers.

We have a duty of care for our employees and customers to limit the risk of them contracting and/or spreading the virus.

To help control the coronavirus, we ask our customers to:

  1. Expect to see our engineers wearing disposable gloves and putting on a face mask before entering the property.

  2. Expect to see our engineers having a 5 minute break outside after every 1 hour of wearing a mask.

  3. Ensure the area around where our engineer needs to work is fully clear of removable objects and clean.

  4. Open a window in or near the area of main work, before, during and for at least 1 hour after the engineer has left.

  5. Designate one person in the property to deal with our engineer.

  6. Open the door to let our engineer in and then step back at least 2 meters.

  7. Keep at least 2m distance from our engineer at all times, ideally staying in a different room.

  8. Ensure other people in the property stay in a different room.

  9. Don’t offer engineers drinks or food.

  10. Pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

  11. Clean the area where our engineer was after he has finished.

  12. Ensure the work area is well ventilated for about 1 hour after the engineer has left.
