Play, Laughter & New Experiences for Children with Disabilities

We help change lives through everyday business activities, by giving to a project every time we install a new boiler.

Charities still need help with funding, especially at the moment. Even though we have had a big reduction in the amount of work we have, caused by the COVID-19 situation, we have still been giving.

So far this year we have donated £1862 to Cherry Trees, which pays for 98 hours of play, laugh and new experiences for children with severe physical and mental disabilities at Cherry Trees.

Cherry Trees is a small charity providing exceptional home-from-home specialist short breaks/respite for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.

Founded in 1980 by a group of parents and doctors, Cherry Trees is a lifeline for the families of more than 100 children and young people who are regularly cared for here, whether it be after school for a few hours, a weekend or even a couple of weeks stay.

Cherry Trees is a unique place, providing professional care in a safe, stimulating and fun environment, where every child is valued for who they are.  It is a community that is dedicated to children and young people, enabling them to spend time with friends and enjoy new experiences and opportunities, while their families have a much needed break.

Our Coronavirus Working Procedures

Company Procedure for Limiting The Spread of Coronavirus

As a company we provide installation and maintenance services to our customers. During the current stay at home period, we will still be operational with a reduced service, to only cover essential works such as ensuring customers have heating and hot water, resolving leaks from water, oil & gas pipes and resolving urgent plumbing problems.

We are taking the control of coronavirus seriously, whilst still trying to offer our essential services to our customers.

We have a duty of care for our employees and customers to limit the risk of them contracting and/or spreading the virus.

To help control the coronavirus, we ask our customers to:

  1. Expect to see our engineers wearing disposable gloves and putting on a face mask before entering the property.

  2. Expect to see our engineers having a 5 minute break outside after every 1 hour of wearing a mask.

  3. Ensure the area around where our engineer needs to work is fully clear of removable objects and clean.

  4. Designate one person in the property to deal with our engineer.

  5. Open the door to let our engineer in and then step back at least 2 meters.

  6. Keep at least 2m distance from our engineer at all times, ideally staying in a different room.

  7. Ensure other people in the property stay in a different room.

  8. Don’t offer engineers drinks or food.

  9. Pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

  10. Clean the area where our engineer was after he has finished.

Church Boiler Upgrade for Greater Efficiency & Reliability

These are two old commercial gas boilers, fitted at a church in Guildford, were unreliable and inefficient. So we replaced them with new boilers and controls just before Christmas, ensuring they had heat when they needed it most.

Three new Worcester GB162 85kW boilers were installed on the opposite wall. This was to allow the existing boilers to operate for as long as possible before shutting down the heating. The heating pipework was also insulated to minimize heat loss.

The new boilers were joined to the existing old heating system via a plate heat exchanger, to create two water circuits. This allows modern condensing boilers to operate efficiently when connected to old heating systems, as this achieves hydraulic water separation and avoids the need for sealing the old system.

The boilers are controlled with sequence and weather compensation controllers. These controls ensure the boilers only operate together when there is a high demand for heat and ensure all the boilers run an equal amount of time over the year.

WiFi enabled smart room thermostats were fitted around the church to enable different heating zones/areas to be heated at different times and temperatures.  These are connected to the internet to enable remote control of the zones from an app, this is useful as the usage for two church halls and other areas can change at short notice. The app also allows easier operation of the thermostats, especially when there are multiple heating zones.

WE DID IT…

Premier Heating and Friends took on It’s A Knockout

  

On Saturday 8th June our team of 10 competed, against 8 other teams, on various challenges, all of them seem to involve getting wet one way or another! After several games of maneuvering over inflatable obstacles that use bubbles, foam & water our Team finished 2nd!

  

Premier Heating and Friends took on It’s A Knockout to help raise much needed funds for a local charity Cherry Trees.

Cherry Trees is a small charity providing home-from-home specialist short breaks for children and young adults aged 0-19 with a range of complex disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments.

So MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who helped raise much needed funds for Cherry Trees, together everyone achieved a massive £850!!!
