Boiler Servicing

Boiler Servicing Guildford, Surrey and Boiler Maintenance Guildford, Surrey
We service Gas, LPG and Oil boilers

We have trained and experienced engineers who service all types of Gas Boilers, LPG Boilers and Oil Boilers including:

• Domestic Boilers
• Commercial Boilers
• Condensing Boilers
• Combination Boilers
• Conventional Flue Boilers
• Warm Air Boilers
• Swimming Pool Boilers
• Water Heaters
• Gas Fires

There are 3 main reasons why you should service your boiler:

1. Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: If fossil fuels such as gas or oil are burnt, carbon monoxide (CO) can be produced by poorly maintained or faulty appliances. It is vital that appliances are inspected and serviced to ensure they are working safely.

2. Efficiency: As well as carrying out safety checks, our engineers also carry out checks and adjustments on a service to ensure appliances are working to their maximum efficiency. This will help reduce annual fuel costs, saving you money.

3. Reliability: Regular servicing helps to identify any potential problems and therefore minimises breakdowns. Ideally boiler servicing should be carried out in the spring/summer months, so necessary work can be done when the boiler is least at use.

Due to the nature of fuel burning appliances parts can sometimes become brittle and when carrying out servicing these parts may fail or break. This is not a fault of the service but a failure waiting to happen and it is better to replace these items when it is more convenient rather than waiting for them to fail mid winter.

What does a Gas Boiler Service include?

This can vary depending on the appliance type and age, but an older standard boiler would include the following:

  • A visual check to ensure your boiler, flue and any ventilation requirements still meet current standards
  • Boiler fired to identify any working faults
  • Boiler casing removed to check all main boiler components (burner, heat exchanger, main injector, spark/sensor probe).
  • Checks to ensure flue terminals are unobstructed and internal flue components are sealed properly
  • Inside casing surfaces cleaned
  • Main heat exchanger and boiler parts cleaned (not always necessary on condensing boilers)
  • Boiler casing seals inspected for integrity to ensure for adequate sealing
  • Gas working pressure test conducted to ensure that adequate gas is supplied to the appliance
  • Combustion readings checked and gas valve adjusted, if necessary, to ensure the burner is combusting efficiently and properly (normally using a flue gas analyser).

Any parts needed, such as new gaskets are not included in the cost of the service. Our engineers carry a vast array of boiler spares required for servicing, but occasionally replacement parts have to be ordered.

What does an Oil Boiler Service include?

This can vary depending on the appliance type and age, but an older standard boiler would include the following:

  • A visual check to ensure your boiler, flue and any ventilation requirements still meet current standards
  • Boiler fired to identify any working faults
  • Burner removed to clean and inspect the main burner components (fan, air duct, electrodes, photocell probe, blast tube)
  • New correctly sized oil nozzle fitted
  • Baffles removed and the combustion area cleaned
  • Checks to ensure flue terminals are unobstructed and internal flue components are sealed properly
  • Inside casing surfaces cleaned
  • Boiler casing seals inspected for integrity to ensure for adequate sealing
  • Oil pump pressure checked to ensure that adequate oil is supplied to the appliance
  • Oil filter cartridge replaced
  • Oil tank and oil supply line inspected for leaks
  • Fire valve checked for correct operation using a special heat device
  • Combustion readings checked and settings adjusted, if necessary, to ensure the burner is combusting efficiently and properly (with a flue gas analyser).

Any parts needed, such as new gaskets, nozzles, oil filters are not included in the cost of the service. Our engineers carry a vast array of boiler spares required for servicing, but occasionally replacement parts have to be ordered.
